Whats New Summer 2007

We have had a very busy summer, and hopefully I can begin to update everything on our website and the blog. First we have completed our new kennel, and we are in the process of remodeling our home. There is good news. Our two female yorkies had their puppies last week. Annie had one male, her first litter.
Abby had 2 males her second litter. Annie’s male is already sold but, Abby’s 2 males have not yet been sold they both are 1 week old, now. So anyone interested in a male yorky needs to contact me as soon as possible. AKC registered they won’t last long. Cain is now 9 1/2 months old and is “raising cain” still a lot of pup in him, his mannerisms are hilarious, he still pouts sometimes, but he is beautiful he stands 33 1/4 inches at the shoulderand about 115 lbs maybe more. Cain still likes to take rides in my truck with me. but he can no longer sit up front, he takes up the whole back seat in my crew cab. I am also adding to the kennel, two Boxers they are beautiful. The female is a fawn with a white patch chest, and black mask. The male is a fawn with a white collar, chest, legs, and mask, he has a small white line between his eyes and he and the female are very large.
his name is Enormous and her name is Zoey. They are very sweet natured babies. I am blessed and pleased to own all my wonderful dogs. Until next time God Bless and take care. Karen

Raising Cain and our New Additions

All through the month of March, Cain and I went several places together, he is more spoiled if possible than he has ever been. He is kind of jealous of the other Danes, but he try’s so hard to be a gentleman to them. he has loved the warm weather we had last month, he plays so hard. We have been going through new dog adjustment. We recently got 5 new additions at our kennels. We now have 3 female Yorkshire Terriers and 2 male Yorkshire Terriers. So hopefully we will have some small yorkie babies for sale in the near future.

The Danes are getting along really well with the Yorkies. it’s very funny to see such big dogs and then see such small ones in their kennels nearby. I guess the children’s gospel song about all things great and small, the Lord God made them all holds true, especially in this case.

Giddeon is a wonderful mom to her 11 babies, they are growing so big, they turned 3 weeks old on Easter Sunday, I am including some pics of all the kids (dogs).

Update on Giddeons New Litter

Giddeon is the Proud Mama of 11 Healthy Great Dane Puppies. She had four females and 7 males. there are 2 male Harlequins, 1 female Merlequin, 2 male Merlequins, 2 female Merles,and 4 male Merles. They were born on Sunday March the 18th, 2007. and will be ready for there new homes in 6 weeks. We provide their first shots and dewormings. We are taking deposits to hold a pup just for you. Give us a call to reserve your beautiful puppy. This litter will be akc registered .

Raising Cain

Life with Cain is starting to get very interesting, he is growing so much that he is almost as tall as our adult females. He will be 5 months old on the 23rd of March. He thinks he rules the roost around our home, and he truly does. Cain has taken over our living room, our bedroom and the kids rooms,since he is still a puppy, of course he likes to chew everything in sight, this of course leaves me no other choice, but to retailiate, so I have to scold him. At the suggestion of a friend I gave him his own pair of shoes to chew, old ones of course, and they didn’t last but two days, thats definitely not going to work, so I have given him rawhides, the big ones to chew on, but Monte our little dog, steals them from him and hides every rawhide that he can, this is so funny, because Cain has caught on to his tricks, and now he holds them with both paws and chews until he can’t chew anymore then he falls asleep and Monte steals it anyway. I guess it is a dogs life. He loves to go to town with me, I am so glad that he doesn’t get carsick. He loves to ride in the truck (club cab)his back half sits on the back seat, but he sticks his head and shoulders through the area between the bucket seats and rests his front paws and body on the console, and he insists that he stays that way during each of our trips out.

Many people simply don’t like big dogs, But I have to say in defense of not only Great Danes but in defense of all dogs.If you show them love, they will be good dogs.Â If you teach them patiently they will learn, but it takes a lot ofÂ hard work and dedication from each dog owner out there. Â So Please take care of your dog and they will give you a lot of joy, as well as love.

Raising Cain

I haven’t updated in a while, but I have been very busy with the kids and the dogs. I would like to tell everyone about the merle boy we kept from Cleo’s October 23rd litter. We named him Cain, and he is just another one of our kids. He is beautiful, and he thinks I am his Mom, he is true to the Great Dane Name in every aspect, he pouts if he gets scolded, he is very smart, but cannot stand for me to be out of his sight, he follows me everywhere, I even have to take him the majority of places I go, he is approximately 17 weeks old now and he is going to be very big he’s around 25 inches at the shoulder, and weighs about 60 pounds now, he thinks he is still a small boy and wants me to hold me, which is very funny, because I am only 5 foot 2 inches. He thinks he is talking to us by making the most horrible noises you have ever heard, but it’s his dog language, so we treat him as another child. I have been trying to potty train him, he’s doing really well, but I would eventually like to get him trained as a therapy dog, he has the potential because he is so loving with everyone. I hope to keep everyone updated about raising Cain as often as I can.. also I will let everyone know, when We are expecting a new litter of pups, Dottie,Giddeon, and Katie will be having litters, but it should be this summer.

The Puppies are ready to go to new Homes

By the end of November the puppies will be ready for their new homes, they will be dewormed, and have their first shots, so those of you who have contacted me, about them call back to let me know if you still want them, those of you interested that haven’t called, hope you don’t miss out on these awesome puppies, they will be showstoppers.
